Okay, waaaaaay back in March, mom wrote a postie about how my Auntie C was gonna run in the Chicago Marathon to raise green papers for Alzheimer’s research. Mom gave out the linkie to Auntie C’s fundraising page and said if any of our furends wanted to donate some green papers, we sure would be grateful.

WELL…my furends are the BEST, most nicest, biggest hearted, kindest furends in the WORLD! Cuz everybuddy jumped right in and donated over 600 green papers!!!! Wowza! Is that Most Amazing or WHAT? All in all, she smashed her goal of 1500 green papers and raised 2,295 green papers!

So my Auntie C trained and trained and trained until FINALLY last Sunday was the big day! Here she is (in the middle) with her two packmates that ran with her.

And then they were off! And, well, as you can see, there was a lot of running. (I like running but I don’t think I woulda wanted to run over 26 miles!)

Mile 21 and she's still smiling!

Finally, they got to the finish line! Yay!

And they even got medals for being crazy strong enough to finish the whole thing!

All of us are super, duper, crazy proud of her and how hard she worked to raise green papers for an awfully good cause.

And we want to thank all of you SO MUCH for supporting my Auntie C and for being such generous, loving souls. We just feel so lucky to have you as our furends!

  3. Wow, congrats! Also, your Auntie C could be the new ridiculously photogenic runner meme with all the smiling she’s doing during the marathon.

    • Haha! It’s SO true! My mom said if she were to run (or walk) that far, she wouldn’t look that good OR be smiling.

  4. Woohoo Auntie C! We are proud of her too! The only time I run is when I hear the pop top on my stinky goodness open
